F.R.I.E.N.D.S

To those who are everything...

Each of you is unique and special in your own way....
If you ever feel lost and left out, see yourself through my eyes &
Realise that you have one humble friend to fall back upon...

Aditi Shenoy
- You are whacky, bit weird, a lot beautiful!
You are closer than a sister...closer than a friend.
You are a person whose judgement most trust in times when all seems, well...'floozy':P
I wish you would stay nearer to me, but you wouldnt be more close than you are now..
You are my confidante!

Dhaval Chopda
- Dude, what do I say? You are the craziest of all!
You make me laugh, you irritate me (a lot)....and you comfort me, in your own unique way!
You are honest and blunt, nobody teases me more than you...and i love you absolutely crazy! :D
You are my best buddie!

Anisha Dhody
-Of all times that  I have done some kide...you are the first to know about it!
I adore your lectures, your little hints, your non-judgemental way of listening to me!
Girl, you are the girly element of my life!
You are my girlfriend!

Prateek Pangarkar
-I wouldnt know how to pronounce 'Wednesday' without you!:D
I wouldnt know how to go crazy and let the wild take over. I wouldnt know the Aquafina lake, without you...
I wouldnt have learnt so many important, altering things without you...
You are an amazing person....there are so many facets to you! You are a friend and more[ ;)]...
You are my guru!

Neeraj Kulkarni
-No sis is as lucky to have a brother like you.
We do kide, we fight, we hatch unrealistic plots, we have deep and stupid discussions.
All the while, less like siblings and more like pals!
I have a best friend of my own in my house!
You are my 'Bro'!

Sneha Desai
- My sister in crime! All the kide's I have done, you have followed suit.
All the kide's you have done, I have followed suit! :P
Between all the stupid 'boy stuffs', our friendship endures..
You have been with me in my most trying period...I am So very grateful!
You are my sistah!

Sharavati Thorat and Punit Bhandari
-You guys are the best! I love all the wild parties, and all the stuff that follows it.
Somehow, talli parties are not possible without you!:P
You have helped, and not judged, in the times when I have needed to be understood.
You define the word 'Friends'!

Amit Taware
- I musnt have fought with anybody else more than you. Nobody has made me cry more than you.
But nobody has made me smile more than you either.
You are passionate and honest, you are stupid and duh, unpredictable yet so familiar.
You annoy me, you bewilder me, you make me wanna kill you...you are so twisted but I understand you so well.
You are a grown up, a little kid....you care so much, nobody knows me and predicts me like you.
You are so much more than a friend...
You are my mirror!

An ode to y'all! Kudos!

Impromptu

By jolly, my mind wanders...
what do you seek? it answers...
a li'l peace, a li'l passion
a break from this desolation...

Ode to Anne

Woman.

The fairer sex. The weaker sex, according to some. Definitely subservient to the males who have been ruling through the history of every god damned aspect. (Feminists: dont go into denial, I am one of you).
No book, no documentary, no ritual in history chronicles the lives of women. Its always been the man who stolen the spotlight and told the story his way. And nobody disputes that, since the disputers would also have to be males.

Yet when you dig deeper you come across the subtle nuances of those history books. Yet when you think closely you realize men are merely the tools, the puppets in the hands of women walking one step behind them. They are the shoulders on which women fired their guns, took their shot at the greatest stories ever told...

I started thinking about this issue during my recent visit to London. Walking through the halls of the great Tower of London, I developed eerie chills on my arms, thinking about the 900 years of British monarchy the place had witnessed. Indeed the very place could behold the ministers thinking out their war strategies or the coronations of the various monarchs who changed the world as we see it today, or the bloodshed and torture which followed the numerous treason charges...

As I stood gazing up at the Tower Hill, I thought of the wronged queen who had been executed there under false charges. I thought of Anne Boleyn, the most beloved yet the most cruelly punished queen of Henry the VIII. Anne Boleyn is always remembered for her independence, intellect and her vicious temper. Indeed, such was her intelligence that she often challenged Henry in his decisions, which drove him to 'remove' her from his court ...

I admire Anne. Though she is often perceived as a cold and ambitious lady, she was a woman of strength and power. Most importantly, she was of enough intellect to know her talents and their uses. She tempted and taunted Henry, refusing to give in to his lust until he promised to marry her. But she kept close enough to tease him and drive him mad with longing, a smart move. I am astounded to realize her power over the King of England and France, that he shook up the entire nation, went against his loyal subjects and friends, changed the course of history, only to be able to marry her...

It was Anne Boleyn who is responsible for Britain to hold different religious views than other countries. It was for Anne Boleyn that King Henry broke all ties with Rome. It was for Anne Boleyn that he risked unpopularity as a King among his people. It was for Anne Boleyn that he kept her family members close, happy and prosperous. Such was her influence over the then most powerful man of Europe....
I was awestruck to think how one woman changed and influenced so many actions in her short lifetime...

Woman. They say she has no impressionable role to play in the history of man, yet no story is complete without an influential woman playing a major role to drive men to the good or bad.
Be it Eve of Paradise
Be it Draupadi,
Be it Helen of Troy...

Be it Anne Boleyn.
